CONCLUSION

Pressure ulcers/ injury are a serious health problem. Prevention and early intervention are critical for effective management. Successful prevention is key but requires a comprehensive approach.

Mobilisation if possible, is an important component in the management of pressure ulcers, as being immobile can have significant consequences. Encourage and assist the patient to move or shift into a new position. Mobilisation will help to reduce the duration and magnitude over vulnerable areas of the body.
